This ultra wide angle lens allows you to get extremely close to objects, exaggerating the difference in size between a near object and its background. Creative photographers can use this phenomenon to create excellent separation between subject and background for a strong sense of presence or for a pan-focus effect with everything from foreground to background sharply in focus.

Note

This lens is only compatible with 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D, 7D and Digital Rebel series digital cameras. This lens is not compatible with 1D or 5D series digital camera or 35mm film cameras.

Comment

For a great exaggerating- effect between a near object and its background, a wide angle 10mm lens is better than a 16mm lens. That means a Canon 10-22mm pair with a Canon 7D has better exaggerating-effect than a Canon 16-35mm II pair with a Canon 5D Mark II. If the exaggerating-effect is the most important factor for your shot, pick a Canon 10-22mm.
