Description
The images that come out of this lens are sharp and clear at all apertures, and are very close to the images that come out from the 85mm f/1.2 versions (I and II).
This lens is considered a very good lens.
Comment
This lens focuses faster than the 85mm f/1.2 versions. It is not brighter than the 85mm
f /1.2, so the question is why do you need the 1.2? The answer is to achieve the dream like look at f/1.2 stop. Remember, there is a big difference in the background blurring effect between f/1.2 and f/1.8 lenses, because of the higher shutter speed of the 1.2 lens. In this case, besides the fast f-stop, the fast shutter speed gives the image a better background blurring effect as well. Since a shot can be taken at a faster f-stop, the shutter speed can be increased. For example, the background blurring will look more dream like at f/1.2 and 1/8000 than at f/1.2 and 1/30 settings. Try it and see.
For a fast focus and a lightweight lens, try this 1.8 version.
